Women helping women realize their full potential

What is worth? Webster defines worth as: the value of something measured by its qualities or by the esteem in which it is held; moral or personal value; having monetary or material value. How do we determine the worth of any particular person? By the world's standards, worth is determined by how much a person has or how much a person has done. The more you have, the more you're worth. The more you've done to benefit the world, the more valuable you are to the world.

By God's standards, often times the exact opposite is true. Why? Because God doesn't determine your worth by what you have or what you've done. He's looking at your heart, your motives, and your desire. One example of that can be found in Mark 12:41 -- 44 [Amplified].

"41And He sat down opposite the treasury and saw how the crowd was casting money into the treasury. Many rich [people] were throwing in large sums. 42And a widow who was poverty-stricken came and put in two copper mites [the smallest of coins], which together make half of a cent. 43And He called His disciples [to Him] and said to them, Truly and surely I tell you, this widow, [she who is] poverty-stricken, has put in more than all those contributing to the treasury. 44For they all threw in out of their abundance; but she, out of her deep poverty, has put in everything that she had--[even] all she had on which to live."

Proverbs 31 in the New American Standard Bible is titled, "Description of a Worthy Woman". Verse 10 reads, "Who can find a good wife? For she is worth far more than rubies that make one rich." The ruby has been the world's most valued gemstone for thousands of years. It was said to be the most precious of the twelve stones God created when he created all things. In fact, rubies are today still more valuable and rare than even the top quality colorless diamonds. So for God to use a ruby to measure a woman's worth demonstrates the value of a woman in His eyes. Many women allow themselves to be treated as second class. Society teaches us that we are less esteemed than men. What does the word of God teach us?

Genesis 1:27 says, "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them." Male and female were created in the image of God. Do you understand what it means that you bear the image of God? If you have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, then you are a coheir with Jesus; you are the sister of Christ. If you are Jesus' sister, then you are God's daughter. Since God is the King of kings, that makes you A PRINCESS! That's the identity you need to claim. That's who you really are and that's the way God wants you to see yourself.

You will never be who God created you to be, if you do not know who you are in Him. You will never believe that you have the ability to be, or that you deserve to be loved, successful, prosperous, respected, honored and so much more, until you begin to see yourself the way God sees you. The more time you spend in His word and in His presence, the more you are transformed into His likeness. As you begin to take on the characteristics of God, you begin to walk like Him, talk like Him, think like Him, and see not through your natural eyes, but through the very eyes of the God who's image you are created in.

When you look into a mirror you will see the daughter of a king and believe that because you are the daughter of a king, you deserves to be treated as such. The next time you are asked who you are, reply with confidence, "I am Princess _____________(insert your name) and I was created in the image of God. " . . . I am fearfully and wonderfully made . . . and that my soul knoweth right well." (Psalm 139:14)
